I recently had the opportunity to photograph a lifestyle branding session for Vicki, the owner of Dream Acres, and I left wishing I could stay a little longer. Every detail of this guesthouse has been thoughtfully designed to create a space where people can slow down, gather together, and simply enjoy being present.

One of my favorite parts of the guesthouse is how inviting it feels. Inside, you’ll find a cozy fireplace that’s perfect for curling up with a good book or enjoying a quiet evening together. There’s even a dedicated reading and study room if you’re looking for a peaceful place to unwind. Vicki has also stocked the house with board games, puzzles, and activities that make it easy for families and friends to spend quality time together without ever leaving the property.

Outside, the experience continues. Picture yourself sharing dinner on the patio, gathering around the firepit after sunset, or laying out a picnic on the lawn while the kids play nearby. It’s the kind of place that encourages you to put your phone away and enjoy the people you’re with.

If you decide to venture out, Sherwood has so much to offer just a short drive away. Grab a coffee from Symposium Coffee, stroll through historic downtown Sherwood, browse the local market, or spend the afternoon exploring nearby shops and restaurants.

If you’re looking for something more active, challenge your family to a game of pickleball, visit one of the beautiful local parks, or head over to Langer’s Entertainment Center for go-karts, mini golf, arcade games, and fun for all ages.

One of my favorite ideas for guests staying at Dream Acres is to turn your getaway into something you’ll remember for years to come by booking a family photography session during your stay. The property itself provides beautiful natural backdrops, making it easy to capture genuine moments together without having to travel anywhere else.
